Is It Just Me?

“Is it just me that’s feeling super overwhelmed and sad about little things?”

“Is it just me feeling completely drained and empty?”

“Is it just me struggling to fall asleep after having a baby?”

“Is it just me that could sleep all day because I have no energy to give?”

No Mama, it’s not just you feeling that way. According to the CDC, 1 in 8 women experienced postpartum depression after having a new baby. And that statistic just covers the women who have admitted their depression and sought help for it.

It’s not just you Mama.

Even if you didn’t have a new baby within the past year, the CDC still reports that 1 in 10 women have had symptoms of depression.

It’s not just you Mama.

Hopefully knowing that you aren’t the only one fighting mental battles dispels some of the loneliness and shame that can build within our minds. However, to truly emerge from the isolating cave of your head, you’re going to have to be vulnerable with others about your thoughts. You’re going to have to talk about what you are thinking–no matter how ugly your thoughts may be.

It’s not just you Mama.

We all need mind renewal. We all need God’s grace to get through tough days. We all need to remind our brains that we are in control of our thoughts. We all need Jesus to help us.

It’s not just you Mama.

Stick with me as we continue this journey of Mastering Your Mama Mind. Working to restore your mental health is a slow process with ups and downs, victories, and valleys. But I promise that through Jesus Christ, mental peace is obtainable.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
