God is like an Aldi

I’m an Aldi shopper. I love its simplicity, and cheapness! Plus, they are stinking efficient– especially when I have babies with minuscule amounts of patience. That speaks my language. I don’t have time to waste mulling around the aisles of a grocery store with kids in my cart. If you need milk, there’s one brand to select from. If you need applesauce, there’s one jar staring at you from the shelf.

As I planned out my grocery list today, do you know what I realized? God is like an Aldi.

Like an efficient German-modeled grocery chain, God gave us only one choice. His son Jesus, as the doorway to eternal life. He made it so simple for us, and yet in our humanness, we make it complicated and open ourselves up to too many choices.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6

"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9

It’s so simple, isn’t it? We must recognize that Jesus is the only way, confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead and then eternal life with the Father God is ours.

It’s that simple. Then, why do we get confused? Maybe it’s because we stare too hard and too long and all the choices in the aisle, instead of grabbing hold of the one choice God told us was the right choice.

“Confusion is the result of considering too many things. When the Lord tells you something there should be nothing else to consider.” —Keith Moore

My dear Mama, if life seems confusing today please take a step back and ground yourself in the truth of God’s Word. Take the 5 seconds and Google, “What does the Bible say about ___________” and then begin to study the scriptures pertaining to your situation.

God has given us answers for EVERY situation you might face in this life, within His Word– the Bible. It’s up to us to study it and, like a good Aldi shopper, ignore the other choices that confuse us.

I challenge you today, Mama. Ignore that Instagram account that you go to for child-raising advice, ignore the opinions of that famous child psychologist and forget the pushy advice that you got from a friend! Head back to the basics that has held true throughout generations.

The Word of God.
